How to find the perfect wedding venue

When it comes to choosing your wedding venue, there are different elements that you need to take into consideration.

In this article, we’re going to show you what are the main factors to consider when choosing your wedding venue.

1. Consult a Wedding Planner

They are much more familiar with the capacities of a venue, the style, and the time you’ll need to transform it.  If there’s a creative way to make it unique or a way to add elements that could make your vision come to life, your planner will know and will support you.

2. Identify your priorities

Let an Italian Wedding Planner help you to find the locations that fits the most with your priorities. Are you looking for a small or intimate location? How important are the entertainment and music in your wedding? Have you asked the location manager if there are any restrictions in terms of music, shows and performances?

If for example, your top priority is to play music until a late time, avoid  choosing venues that are located in the city center.

3. The catering

Is the catering in house or external? If your location has  an in house catering, make sure you do a tasting before confirming the location

4. Ask for professional advice

Let an expert help you to find the place the satisfies most of your desires.  Ask for professional opinion. A good wedding planner will tell you what are the strengths and weaknesses of a specific location or city and will guide you in finding the one that’s perfect for you and your wedding vision.

5. Plan B

Does your location have a plan B? Don’t underestimate the weather factor. Make sure you check all the internal and external spaces of a venue. More importantly, make sure that whatever plan you have for external is suitable and can be done also internal in case of rain.

6. Space

Can the location accommodate all of your guests?

7. How far is the wedding venue from the church?

Distance is a crucial factor when planning a wedding. Have you considered the distance between your venue and the closest hotel where your guests will be staying? You don’t want to make your wedding an exhausting and stressful experience for your guests. The logistics of your wedding day are important as you want to make sure your schedule runs smoothly. Consider the distance between the ceremony location and the reception venue very carefully.

8. Consider your theme.

For example, if a bride prefers a rustic-styled wedding, she will naturally select venues which are in line with a rustic look. Some venues can accommodate any look and mood you want, simply by adding lighting effects and decor.

9. Visit Your Favorites

Once you’ve selected what are your venues, start taking a visit to your favorite ones. You can see how space feels in person, and get a feel for how the wedding set up will work (where will the ceremony be, where will the cocktail hour be, where will people have dinner, where’s the dance floor, where is the bridal suite, etc.).Visiting venues in person is essential. When you’ll find the one that makes your heartbeat, you’ll feel it and you’ll understand if it’s the right place for you. You’ll get that “feeling” in your gut that will tell you it’s the one!

10. Good Lighting

Do the venues you’re interested in have large windows to let in natural light? If they don’t have windows, is there ample lighting to light up space?
