FAQ – All your Questions Answered

In this article, we have put together the most frequently asked questions that we usually receive from couples who want to get married in Italy. Get comfortable with your nice cup of coffee and enjoy this article, I’m sure you will find the answers you were looking for.

1. HOW MUCH SHOULD WE EXPECT FOR THE TRAVEL EXPENSES?

Within 50 km from Rome, the site inspection is included in the price. If it’s just one day for instance on the Amalfi Coast or Tuscany it can vary between Eur 200 and Eur 400. The cost of travel expenses that we (and suppliers) face when working in other regions depends on several variables, such as: the destination, the distance we should travel, the number of people needed, the season (in high season hotel costs are higher), the number of days we should stay out. However, travel expenses will be one of the smallest expenses you will have to face. Just to give you a general estimate, an average cost includes between 300 and 1500 Eur (based on all the variables indicated above). Thanks to our experience, we know many tricks to save on travel expenses, so as to optimize the budget of our couples.

2. WILL WE NEED TO VISIT THE VENUE BEFORE BOOKING IT? WHAT IF WE’RE NOT ABLE TO TRAVEL?

Having a local wedding planner means that we will do all the meetings for you, from the site inspection, to the meetings with the suppliers. If you are able to travel to Italy to see the venue it would be great! But if you can’t, there is no problem, we are used to work with couples who see their venue for the first time on their wedding day. Usually for those who cannot come to Italy before the wedding, we organize virtual tours with the location, video calls and create realistic projects to allow you to visualize what your wedding will look like.

3. ARE THERE VENUES THAT YOU CAN RECOMMEND THAT HAVE ACCOMMODATION ONSITE?

Yes. We have more than 200 venues in our portfolio, so we can surely recommend you venues that have accommodation onsite.

4.   SHALL I PAY FOR THE ACCOMMODATION OF MY GUESTS?

This is not necessary. You can pay for your guests’ accommodation only if you want to. During the years we had some couples that decided to take care of every expense of their guests and others who decided to cover only part of the costs, for example, the transportation to the venue, so feel free to decide what works best for you.

5. WHAT’S THE BEST TIME OF THE YEAR TO GET MARRIED IN ITALY?

Weather is always unpredictable nowadays all over the world. Italy is very fascinating during all the seasons but if you want to have mild weather, the best months are May, June, midSeptember and beginning of October. Our favorite month is September.

6. CAN YOU HELP US PLAN OUR WEDDING WEEKEND INCLUDING WELCOME DINNER, FAREWELL BRUNCH AND ACTIVITIES?

Of course! We are used to organizing unique multi-day celebrations for our couples. We can plan incredible welcome dinners, super engaging activities to allow your guests to discover the best of Italy, and brunch or pool party on the last day. We want to ensure that your trip to Italy exceeds all expectations. We organized many welcome dinners on the rooftop at sunset, super fun pool parties with lots of personalized gadgets, casual brunch on the beach (or beach party) or by the lake. The ideas are many and we will study them together according to your needs and desires. In terms of activities, we like to allow your guests to discover the best that our beautiful country has to offer. From museum visits to wine tasting in a typical Tuscan winery, cooking classes, a course to learn how to make mozzarella, and much more.

7. HOW MUCH IS THE VAT? SHOULD WE EXPECT TO HAVE TO PAY A VAT TO ALL WEDDING VENDORS?

VAT is a mandatory tax that is paid in Italy and applies to all wedding vendors. VAT in Italy is 22% for most suppliers. While for the F&B it is equivalent to 10%. It also depends on the type of regime that each vendor/company has. We will include VAT in your budget plan, so you will always be aware of how much vendors are charging. We will calculate for you VAT for every expense/vendor confirmed.

So having a trusted professional who has followed you all year, who will manage the suppliers, the timing and assist you throughout the day is crucial.

12. HOW DO PAYMENTS WORK FOR YOUR AGENCY AND VENDORS?

Our payment policy works like this: payments are divided into 3 installments (one upon confirmation of the proposal, one at mid-stage, and the last, one month before the wedding). While for vendors, payments are usually divided into 2/3 installments based on the policy of each supplier. We are lucky to work with trusted vendors who have super flexible payment plans.

13. WHERE ARE YOU BASED AND WHERE DO YOU USUALLY WORK?

We are based in Rome, but we work all over Italy, and we know all the Italian regions like the back of our hand. Our favorite regions and those where we work the most are Rome, Tuscany, the Amalfi Coast, Apulia, and Lake Como.
